Overview
The Road Trip Food Budget Calculator helps RV campers, road trippers, and traveling families estimate food spending for their trip. Instead of guessing how much to budget for meals, this tool calculates daily and total food costs based on the number of travelers, trip duration, meals per day, and budget level.
Core Formulas
Daily Meal Cost Per Person
Daily Meal Cost = Sum of (Selected Meal Costs)Each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) has a predefined cost based on the selected budget level. Only the meals you select are included in the total.
Example (Average budget, all meals):
Breakfast $6 + Lunch $8 + Dinner $12 + Snack $4 = $30/person/dayTotal Trip Cost

Custom Expenses
In addition to base meal costs, you can add custom expenses that apply per person per day:

Custom expenses are multiplied by travelers × days and added to the total.
